Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton Set for Double Feature Movie, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby

Jessica Chastain and Joel Edgerton will star in a double-feature film project The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers, according to a report on Deadline.com. Ned Benson is writing and directing the project.

The two films will center on a difficult period in the marriage of a restaurant owner (Edgerton) and his wife (Chastain), who has returned to college. The films will explore the time from each of their perspectives.

Chastain is currently an Academy Award nominee for her work in The Help. As previously announced, she will star in The Heiress on Broadway during the 2012-2013 season. Among her other stage credits are Othello and Rodney’s Wife Off-Broadway.

Edgerton appeared on the New York stage as Stanley Kowalski opposite Cate Blanchett in A Streetcar Named Desire. His many Australian stage credits include Henry V and The Pillowman. Among his film credits are King Arthur, The Waiting City, Warrior, and the upcoming The Great Gatsby, in which he plays Tom Buchanan.
