Jessica Chastain Added to Palm Springs Film Festival Honorees

Stage veteran Jessica Chastain will be honored for her work in the films The Help, The Tree of Life and Take Shelter at the 23rd Palm Springs Film Festival, according to Variety. The awards gala will be held on January 7, 2012.

Also newly announced as an honoree is composer Howard Shore. As previously reported, honorees also include Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee Stephen Daldry, named Director of the Year for his work on Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close; George Clooney, honored with the Chairman’s Award for The Ides of March; and Glenn Close, recipient of the Career Achievement Award, along with Michel Hazanavicius, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Octavia Spencer, Michelle Williams, and the film Young Adult.
