Guys and Dolls to Receive Hollywood Movie Remake

The beloved Broadway musical will head back to the big screen.

Guys and Dolls is heading back to the big screen, courtesy of TriStar Pictures.

According to Variety, TriStar has simultaneously acquired the remake rights to the Damon Runyon source material, the rights to Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling, and Abe Burrows's stage adaptation, and the remake rights to the 1955 film, which was released by the Samuel Goldwyn Company. The new adaptation will be produced by John Goldwyn and Marc Toberoff for TriStar, with Meyer Gottlieb executive producing. Hannah Minghella and Nicole Brown are overseeing the film for TriStar.

Casting and timeline have not yet been announced. Guys and Dolls boasts a score that includes "Luck Be a Lady," "A Bushel and a Peck," "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," and many other classics.
