According to a Deadline report, Tony-nominated Hand to God star Geneva Carr has landed a role as a series regular in CBS drama pilot Bull. The show is "based on popular daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw's early days as head of one of the most prolific trial consulting services of all time." Carr will play "Marissa, a psychologist, neurolinguistics expert, and licensed sex therapist working on Dr. Bull’s team."

Paul Attanasio (Donnie Brasco) and Dr. Phil McGraw himself will write the pilot and executive-produce. Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, and McGraw's oldest son, Jay, will also executive-produce.

Carr earned a Tony nomination last season for her Broadway debut performance in Robert Askins' dark comedy Hand to God. She took on the role of Margery, a single mother and teacher at a Christian Puppet Ministry in Cypress, Texas. Carr's previous television credits include Younger, The Mysteries of Laura, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, and Rescue Me, among others.
