Ed Begley, Jr. will reprise his production of Cesar & Ruben, which he wrote and directed, at the NoHo Arts Center, August 3-September 9, with an official opening on August 10.

The musical chronicles the life of labor activist Cesar Chavez, after his death when he meets the late Los Angeles Times reporter Ruben Salazar in the cafe where Salazar was tragically killed 23 years prior.

The show previously played the El Portal Theater in 2003, winning a Nos Otros Award and four Valley Theater Awards while gaining enthusiastic support from the Cesar Chavez Foundation, the United Farm Workers and Chavez’ widow and children.

Begley is best known for his role as Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the long-running hit television series St. Elsewhere, for which he received six Emmy nominations. His film credits include A Mighty Wind, Batman Forever, and The Accidental Tourist.
