Ed Begley, Jr, Felicity Huffman, and Rod McLachlan will star in the Mark Taper Forum‘s production of David Mamet’s November, running September 26-November 4 under the direction of Scott Zigler. The production officially opens on October 7.

Begley will play beleaguered incumbent President Charles Smith, who must contend with an approval rating in the single digits, the dwindling of his campaign funds, the creation of his presidential library, gay marriage, gambling casinos, the potential outbreak of Avian Flu, and a sofa in need of reupholstering. Huffman plays his lesbian speech writer, with McLachlan as his Chief of Staff.

Additional information about the production will be announced.

Begley’s screen credits include St. Elsehwere, A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, Arrested Development, and many others. He has appeared on stage in Mamet’s Romance and Cryptogram.

Huffman, a member of the Atlantic Theater Company, is best known for her performance as Lynette Scavo on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, and has been seen on stage in Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow, Cryptogram, and Boston Marriage, among others.

McLachlan has been seen on Broadway in The Government Inspector, Saint Joan, and Our Town.
