Dick Van Dyke will present Mary Tyler Moore with the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award ceremony, to be held on Sunday, January 29 and broadcast simultaneously on TNT and TBS. The honor is given annually to an actor who fosters the “finest ideals of the acting profession.”

Moore has appeared twice on Broadway in Whose Life Is It Anyway? and Sweet Sue. She is best known for her film and television work, including Ordinary People, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Six Weeks, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Dick Van Dyke Show.

In addition, with Grant Tinker, she formed the production company MTM, which produced such series as The Bob Newhart Show, Newhart, and Hill Street Blues. She is also co-founder of Broadway Barks, an annual event held in Broadway’s Shubert Alley that promotes the adoption of shelter animals.

Van Dyke and Moore co-starred on TV’s The Dick Van Dyke Show, as well as the PBS version of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Gin Game, among other television appearances.
