Charlotte Rae, Mary McDonnell, Mary McCormack, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, and recording artist Randi Driscoll will participate in the Los Angeles area reading of The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA on October 12 at 7:30pm. Liesel Reinhart and Steven T. Seagle will co-direct the piece, an epilogue to the Tectonic Theatre Project's play about the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepherd, a young gay man who was living in rural Wyoming.

Tectonic director Moises Kaufman and his co-writers -- Stephen Belber, Leigh Fondakowski, Andy Paris, and Greg Pierotti -- returned to Laramie last fall to re-interview several townspeople who originally gave accounts about Shepard and his killers in 1998.

Sharon Lawrence, Doug Spearman, and city of West Hollywood Councilmember John Duran are also scheduled to appear in the performance that will feature musical selections by Rufus Wainwright, the Dixie Chicks, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bob Dylan, and Sons of the Pioneers.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit GMCLA's AMP (A-LIVE Music Project), a new high school music education program that also focuses on combating bullying and violence against LGBT students.
