Bob Amaral, James Royce Edwards, Lesli Margherita, Brett Ryback et al. Set for La Mirada’s Little Shop of Horrors

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced casting for its production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors, to run April 15-May 1. Brian Kite will direct, with musical direction by David O and choreography by Dana Solimando.

Featuring music by Alan Menken, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, this wildly popular musical spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies involves a down-and-out skid row floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood.

The cast will feature Brett Ryback as Seymour, Lesli Margherita as Audrey, Bob Amaral as Mr. Mushnik, Michael A Shepperd as the voice of Audrey II, James Royce Edwards as Orin the Dentist (among others), Angela Peel as Chiffon, Carey Rebecca Brown as Ronnette, and Dominique Paton as Crystal.

The production will feature set design by Scott Pask, lighting design by Craig Pierce, sound design by Josh Bessom, costume design by William Ivey Long, and puppeteering by Robin Knight.
