Ben Platt to Star in New Netflix Series From Ryan Murphy

Netflix has given a two-season order to a new music-driven television series starring Tony winner Ben Platt, according to published reports.
The hourlong series, called The Politician, is created by Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, and Ryan Murphy. Platt is expected to play a wealthy Santa Barbara resident with political aspirations, and the show itself is expected to have musical numbers in several episodes.
Deadline reports that Oscar winners Gwyneth Paltrow and Barbra Streisand are in talks to costar, though no official information has been released by Netflix.
