Stage and screen star Barry Pearl will be featured in Joan Beber’s Hunger: In Bed With Roy Cohn, a new fantasy play, making its world premiere at The Odyssey Theatre, January 21-March 11. Jules Aaron will direct, with choreography by Kay Cole.

Waiting in a purgatory of his mind and holding court on his bed, Roy Cohn is haunted by tragi-comic visions of Ronald Reagan and Barbara Walters; his lover, G. David Schine and Julius Rosenberg, with wife, Ethel, on the phone. Only after his dancing inner child implores him to “come out”, are we able to see Roy as he might have been.

The cast will also include Cheryl David, Presciliana Esparolini, Tom Galup, Jon Levenson, Jeffrey Scott Parsons, David Sessions, and Liza de Weerd.

The production will feature original music and sound by Max Kinberg, scenic design by John Iacovelli, lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick, costume design by Shon LeBlanc, and projection design by Adam Flemming.

Pearl’s Broadway credits include Baby It’s You, Oliver!, Bye Bye Birdie, and A Teaspoon Every Four Hours. He has appeared frequently on television, and is best known for his appearance as Doody in the film Grease.
