Alec Baldwin to Return as Co-Host of TCM’s The Essentials for Third Season

Alec Baldwin will return for his third season as co-host of The Essentials on Turner Classic Movies (TCM), beginning on March 5. Baldwin and TCM host Robert Osborne have jointly selected 14 films that will air as part of the series on Saturdays at 8pm (ET). In addition, both men have individually selected pictures that will be aired as part of The Essentials.

Baldwin’s selections include The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (April 2), Splendor in the Grass (April 9), East of Eden (May 21), Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (May 28), The Caine Mutiny (June 11), Kiss of the Spider Woman (July 23), City Lights (July 2), Fail-Safe (July 9), and The Misfits (July 16).

Other films that will be part of The Essentials season are Cool Hand Luke (March 5), Dodsworth (June 4), Bringing Up Baby (June 18), Stage Door (August 6), Sunset Blvd. (September 3), and Miracle on 34th Street (December 24).

Baldwin has appeared on Broadway in A Streetcar Named Desire, Loot, and Twentieth Century. He received an Academy Award nomination for The Cooler and has won two Emmy Awards for his work on NBC’s 30 Rock.
