Adriane Lenox, Michael McKean, Katey Sagal, et al. Set for Randy Newman’s Harps and Angels

Casting has been announced for Harps and Angels, a new musical using the songs of Academy Award winner Randy Newman and conceived by Jack Viertel, to run November 10 – December 19 at the Mark Taper Forum. As previously reported, Jerry Zaks will direct the production..

The show, described as a frequently satirical commentary on being born and growing up in the U.S., will feature Adriane Lenox, Michael McKean, Katey Sagal, Ryder Bach, Storm Large, and Matthew Saldivar.

Harps and Angels will include such songs as “I Love L.A.,” “I Think It’s Going to Rain Today,” “Sail Away,” “Marie,” “Rednecks,” “My Country,” “Louisiana 1927,” “Feels Like Home,” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

The creative team will include Stephan Olson (scenic design, Stephanie Kerley Schwartz (costume design), Brian Gale (lighting design), Philip G. Allen (sound design), and Marc Rosenthal (projection design). Michael Roth will provide music direction and Warren Carlyle will provide musical staging.
