24th Street Theatre Announces 2012-2013 Season logo
24th Street Theatre has announced the productions planned for its 2012-2013 15th anniversary season of sophisticated theater for young audiences.

To kick off the season, 24th Street Theatre will partner with Mexico's Viaje Redondo Producciones on the U.S. premiere of Rome at the End of the Line (September 15-October 7), a whimsical and poignant story about friendship that spans a lifetime performed in Spanish with English supertitles. Next, the theater will bring Canada's international touring production of Nearly Lear (October 19-21), a one-woman tour-de-force adaptation of King Lear by Susanna Hamnett, to L.A. for its local premiere.

In the new year, 24th Street's new TYA company LAB24 will present the West Coast premiere of British playwright Mike Kenny's Walking the Tightrope (January 26-March 31), which explores a child's first experience with loss and celebrates the special bond shared by grandparents and grandchildren. The season's final offering will be acclaimed Mexican clown Aziz Gual's Huraclown (April 20-28), a poignant and poetic journey that illuminates life's profound sorrows and great joys.
