Director Stephen Daldry and playwright David Hare will present a reprise of Wall, written and performed by Hare, which will be presented at Royal Court Jerwood, April 14-25.

This new 40-minute piece is a meditation on the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and described as a companion piece to Berlin, Hare’s 55-minute reading about Germany’s restored capital, which he’s currently performing at the National Theatre (through March 20) as part of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Daldry and Hare have collaborated on several previous works, including Hare’s solo, Via Dolorosa, which premiered at the Royal Court during Daldry’s tenure there as artistic director, as well as the films The Reader and The Hours. Hare’s other plays include Slag, Teeth ‘n’ Smiles, My Zinc Bed, The Vertical Hour, and Gethsemane. Daldry is currently represented on the West End and Broadway by Billy Elliot: The Musical, which he also directed on screen.
