Tracie Bennett will once again play the role of Judy Garland in the West End premiere of Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow, to be presented at Trafalgar Studios November 15-March 5, with an official opening on November 22. 2010 Tony Award winner Terry Johnson will direct.

Set in London in 1968, the show combines humour and heartbreak to capture both the drama of Garland’s final performances in London and her controversial life off stage. Among the songs included are “The Man That Got Away,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “The Trolley Song,” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

The cast will also include Hilton McRae as Anthony, Stephen Hagan as Mickey Deanes, and Robin Browne in multiple roles, plus a six piece on stage band. The production will be designed by William Dudley with sound design by Gareth Owen, lighting by Simon Corder and musical direction by Gareth Valentine.

The production, under Johnson’s direction and starring Bennett, was seen earlier this year at Theatre Royal Northampton.
