Tony Winner Once to Play London’s Phoenix Theatre in 2013

Once, the 2012 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, will make its West End debut at London’s Phoenix Theatre, beginning March 16, 2013 with an opening on April 9.

Featuring a book by Enda Walsh, with Academy Award-winning music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, the show is based on the motion picture written and directed by John Carney. It tells the heartwarming story of an Irish busker and a young Czech mother who meet through a shared love of music.

John Tiffany will once again direct. Scenic and costume designs are by Bob Crowley, lighting is by Natasha Katz, sound is by Clive Goodwin, musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Lowe and movement is by Steven Hoggett.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Prior to its West End opening Once will run at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin from 22 February – 9 March 2013.
