Stephen Sondheim Wins Sheridan Morley Prize for Look I Made a Hat

Stephen Sondheim has won the fifth annual Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography, according to a report on Whatonstage.com. The award, which carries a £2000 cash prize, was presented in a ceremony held on March 8 at the Garrick Club in London.

Sondheim has won for the second volume of his annotated lyrics, Look I Made a Hat. He had been shortlisted for the first volume in the set, Finishing the Hat in 2011.

The prize, established in 2008, is given for the best biography, autobiography or diary in theater or show business from the preceding year in honor of biographer Sheridan Morley.
