Preliminary casting has been announced for Lend Me a Tenor The Musical, which, as previously reported, will begin previews on June 2 at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre, in anticipation of an official opening on June 15. Ian Talbot will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Randy Skinner, music supervision by Paul Gemignani, and musical direction by Colin Billing.

Based on Ken Ludwig’s play of the same name, the show, with book and lyrics by Peter Sham and music by Brad Carroll, centers on the convoluted preparations a small opera company undergoes to present a production of Otello, featuring a temperamental star in the title role.

The company will feature Matthew Kelly (Henry Saunders), Damian Humbley (Max), Michael Matus (Tito Merelli), and Sophie-Louise Dann (Diana Divane). Additional casting will be announced in the near future.

The production will be designed by Paul Farnsworth, with lighting by Tim Mitchell, and sound by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster.
