Sierra Boggess, Seth MacFarlane, Julian Ovenden to Join John Wilson Orchestra for BBC Proms’ The Broadway Sound

Stage stars Sierra Boggess and Julian Ovenden, as well as Family Guy creator and star Seth MacFarlane will join the John Wilson Orchestra tonight, August 27, at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the BBC’s Proms performance of The Broadway Sound, according to published reports.

The evening will celebrate the tunes of songwriters Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, and Vincent Youmans. Vocalists also includes Elizabeth Llewellyn, Anna-Jane Casey, Rodney Earl Clarke, and the Maida Vale Singers.

Boggess is currently starring in the London production of Les Miserables. Ovenden’s stage credits include Death Takes a Holiday in New York and Merrily We Roll Along, Grand Hotel, and Marguerite in the U.K.

MacFarlane is also the creator of TV’s American Dad and The Cleveland Show, as well as the film Ted. His album, Music is Better Than Words is currently nominated for a Grammy Award. His vocals also appear on the John Wilson Orchestra’s upcoming CD release “That’s Entertainment.
