Richard Bean’s adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo has been postponed from its slot at the National Theatre of London’s Olivier Theatre. The production was to have opened on November 27 under the direction of Timothy Sheader.

The reason for the postponement was to give the work more time in development. A replacement production has not yet been announced.

Bean’s credits include the plays England People Very Nice and One Man, Two Guv’nors. Sheader will be co-directing the Public Theater’s upcoming Shakespeare in the Park production of Into the Woods.
