Mike Leigh Named Jury President for Berlin International Film Festival

Mike Leigh, the celebrated British writer/director of both stage and screen, has been named as the Jury President for the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will oversee the international jury that hands out Berlin’s Golden and Silver Bears at the festival.

Leigh’s plays include Grief, Two Thousand Years, Goosepimples, Abigail’s Party, Ecstasy, and Smelling a Rat. His films — including Secrets and Lies, Topsy-Turvy, Naked, Vera Drake, Happy-Go-Lucky, and Another Year — have earned him a total of seven Academy Award nominations.
