London Kids Spotlight: August ’06

L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has seen several adaptations — from the original musical to The Wiz to Wicked — but it’s never been adapted like this. The Unicorn Theatre presents Patrick Shanahan’s Oz, which takes the audience to a quiet Victorian office in Chicago where Baum is working on his masterpiece. When he finds a girl named Dot hiding in his house, he takes her on a journey to his soon-to-be-famous magical land. Also, check out Babe, The Sheep-Pig at the Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.
