Lily James, Clarke Peters, Dominic West, et al. Set for Sheffield Theatre’s Othello

Full casting has been announced for the Sheffield Theatres’ production of Othello, according to WhatsOnStage.com. Tony Award nominee and Sheffield Theatres’ artistic director, Daniel Evans, will direct the production, which runs September 15-October 15, with an opening on September 20.

The tragedy charts the fall of a charismatic Moorish general through the betrayal of one of his most trusted soldiers.

As previously reported, Clarke Peters and Dominic West, who co-starred on HBO’s The Wire, will play Othello and Iago, respectively.


The production will also feature Ian Barritt (Duke/Clown), Alexandra Gilbreath (Emilia), Colin George (Brabantio/Gratiano), Lily James (Desdemona), Gwilym Lee (Cassio), Leigh McDonald (Bianca), Rhodri Miles (Lodovico) and Brodie Ross (Roderigo), along with Luciano Dodero, Josh Hart, Ben Lee, and Andrew Thompson.

The production will be designed by Morgan Large with lighting design by Lucy Carter and sound design by Alex Baranowski.
