Laura Michelle Kelly and James Wilby to Star in UK Revival of The Second Mrs. Tanqueray

Olivier Award-winner Laura Michelle Kelly and film star James Wilby will star in the Rose Theatre, Kingston’s revival of Arthur Wing Pinero’s The Second Mrs. Tanqueray, to run September 27-October 27 under the direction of Stephen Unwin.

The play follows the relationship between Aubrey Tanqueray (Wilby) and his new wife, Paula (Kelly), a lower-class woman with a well-known sexual history.


The cast also includes Joseph Alessi, Rona Morison, and Sally Tatum.

The production features scenic design by Paul Wills, costume design by Mark Bouman, and lighting design by Mike Gunning.

Kelly won the 2005 Olivier Award for her performance as Mary Poppins, which she later repeated on Broadway. She has been seen on stage in Fiddler on the Roof, Speed-the-Plow, Lord of the Rings the Musical, and int he film version of Sweeney Todd.

Wiby’s many film credits include Maurice, A Handful of Dust, Howard’s End, and Gosford Park.
