Joe Hill-Gibbins will direct a revival of Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane at London’s Young Vic, according to a report on Whatsonstage.com. Casting for the production, to run July 15 – August 21, will be announced at a later date.

The production will mark the play’s first major London revival since its premiere run at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in 1996. Beauty Queen is the first play in McDonagh’s Leenane Trilogy, which also includes A Skull in Connemara and The Lonesome West, and it centers on a lonely spinster and her devilishly manipulative mother.

The creative team will include Ultz (production design), Charles Balfour (lighting design), and Paul Arditti (sound design).
