Original Grizabella Elaine Paige Visits Nicole Scherzinger on Opening Night of Cats

The former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman leads the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical at the London Palladium.

Elaine Paige, the original Grizabella in the first London prodution of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, was on hand to celebrate the show's current West End revival as it opened at the London Palladium on December 11. Paige joined Webber and director Trevor Nunn backstage after the show to congratulate the cast, led by former Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nichole Scherzinger as Grizabella.

Cats is inspired by T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Grizabella is the former glamour cat who sings the well-known ballad "Memory." She joins a cast that also includes Nicholas Pound (Old Deuteronomy), Callum Train (Munkustrap), Zizi Strallen (Demeter), and others.
