Duet for One, with Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman, to Transfer to West End’s Vaudeville Theatre

The Almeida’s production of Tom Kempinski’s Duet for One, set to end its run March 14, will transfer to the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre for a limited engagement, May 7-August 1. Matthew Lloyd directs Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman in the two-hander.

The play concerns celebrated concert pianist Stephanie Abrahams (Stevenson) who consults psychiatrist Dr. Feldmann (Goodman) after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The production features set and costume design by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Jason Taylor, and sound by John Leonard.

Goodman has numerous West End and Broadway credits, including Chicago, Hysteria, The Producers, Angels in America, and Art. He was last seen at the Almeida as Argan in The Hypochondriac. Stevenson won the Laurence Olivier for her work in Death and the Maiden, and additional theater credits include Burn This, The Seagull, Alice Trilogy, The Country, We Happy Few and Private Lives. She won the Evening Standard Film Award for Best Actress for Truly, Madly, Deeply.
