David Troughton to Join Kevin Spacey in Old Vic's Inherit the Wind logo

David Troughton will join the previously announced Oscar and Tony Award winner Kevin Spacey in Trevor Nunn's production of Jerome Lawrence and Robert E Lee's modern classic Inherit the Wind, to play the Old Vic, September 18-December 20, with an opening on October 1.

Spacey will play Henry Drummond, while Troughton will play Matthew Harrison Brady. The company will also include Paris Arrowsmith, Paul Birchard, Ken Bones, Adam Booth, David Burrows, Sonya Cassidy, Ian Conningham, Sam Cox, Mark Dexter, Mary Doherty, Branwell Donaghey, Janine Duvitski, Sarah Ingram, Nicholas Jones, Sid Livingstone, Simon Lee Phillips, Sam Phillips, Vincent Pirillo, Christopher Ragland, Susan Tracy, and Janet Whiteside. The production will be designed by Rob Howell, with lighting by Howard Harrison, and sound by Fergus O'Hare. Spacey is also the company's artistic director.

As previously announced, the Old Vic will produce a revival of John Guare's Olivier award-winning play Six Degrees of Separation, January 7-April 3, to be directed by David Grindley, with design by Jonathan Fensom, lighting by Jason Taylor, and sound by Gregory Clarke. No casting has been announced.

The Old Vic is currently offering Sam Mendes' The Bridge Project, featuring The Cherry Orchard and The Winter's Tale, starring Simon Russell Beale, Sinead Cusack, Rebecca Hall, Ethan Hawke, Josh Hamilton, and Richard Easton, through August 15.
