David Tennant to Star in ITV’s Broadchurch

Stage and screen star David Tennant will star in Broadchurch, an eight-part drama to air on ITV, according to Deadline.com.

The series, which will co-star Olivia Colman and Vicky McClure, explores what happens to a small coastal community when a media frenzy comes to town after a young boy is murdered. Tennant will portray the police detective leading the investigation.

Tennant’s many stage credits include Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing. He is best known for playing the title role in the BBC’s Doctor Whoseries and will be seen shortly in the BBC’s The Spies of Warsaw.
