Talk show host Jerry Springer will substitute for the previously reported David Hasselhoff as Captain Hook in the New Wimbledon Theatre’s panto production of Peter Pan, from December 31 – January 8 as well as January 13-14. Hasselhoff has begun previews of the show and will continue with the production through December 30, and return for performances January 8-12 and January 15-16.

Springer has previously appeared on stage as Billy Flynn in Chicago, playing the role in the West End and on Broadway. In addition, he performed in the Kander and Ebb musical on its U.S. tour. He is perhaps best known for his eponymous talk show and from appearances on such reality shows as America’s Got Talent and Dancing With the Stars.

Along with the news of Springer’s appearance in the production, it has been announced that Jeremy Jackson, who like Hasselhoff starred on Baywatch, will play the role for two performances on December 18 and at the matinee December 19.
