David Bedella to Play Billy Flynn in Chicago in the West End

David Bedella will assume the role of Billy Flynn in the West End production of Chicago the Musical, playing at the West End’s Cambridge Theatre, on February 28, and continue with the production through May 8. Directed by Walter Bobbie and featuring choreography by Ann Reinking, Chicago is now booking through January 29, 2012.

Bedella’s other stage work includes his Olivier Award-winning performance as Satan in Jerry Springer the Opera, as well as The Rocky Horror Show in the West End and Chess at Royal Albert Hall. On screen, he has been seen in such movies as Alexander and Batman Begins, among others.


He joins a company that also stars Sarah Soetaert (Roxie Hart), Lisa Donmall (Velma Kelly), Jasna Ivir (Mama Morton), Victor McGuire (Amos Hart), and Russell Whitehead (Mary Sunshine).

With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, Chicago focuses on the ways in which two women attempt to exploit their crimes for show business success.
