Daniel Evans to Star in Alexi Kaye Campbell’s The Pride in Sheffield

Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee Daniel Evans will star Alexi Kaye Campbell’s The Pride for Sheffield Theatres, according to WhatsOnStage.com. Richard Wilson will direct the production, which will play the Studio at Sheffield Crucible, June 23-July 16.

The play, which concerns a complex love triangle replete with conflicting loyalties and passions, jumps from 1958 to the present. Evans will play the role of Oliver.

Evans won an Olivier Award for his performance in Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along and won the Olivier and received a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Georges/George in Sunday in the Park With George. He is artistic director of Sheffield Theatres, and as previously reported is also slated to star in the company’s production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Company in December 2011.
