Complicite's A Disappearing Number to Play West End's Novello Theatre in September
A Disappearing Number, which was recently seen as part of the Lincoln Center Festival, weaves together several stories, crossing decades and continents. The original cast who devised the piece - David Annen, Firdous Bamji, Paul Bhattacharjee, Hiren Chate, Divya Kasturi, Chetna Pandya, Saskia Reeves and Shane Shambhu - will reunite for the West End engagement.
The creative team includes Nitin Sawhney (original music), Michael Levine (production design), Paul Anderson (lighting design), Christopher Shutt (sound design), Sven Ortel (projection design) and Christina Cunningham (costume design).
After the production has played the West End, it will return to the Theatre Royal Plymouth, where it will be performed on October 14, and broadcast to cinema screens around the world as part of the National's NT Live.
In related news, Complicite will return to the Barbican in November with a second season of Shun-kin, its follow-up to A Disappearing Number. In addition, McBurney is scheduled to direct Raskatov's A Dog's Heart for the English National Opera, to run November 20 - December 4 at the London Coliseum.
