Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story to Launch U.K. Tour in February

The biomusical Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will launch a U.K. tour with an engagement at the Dartford Orchard Theatre, to run February 1-5. Matt Sailsbury will direct the production, which will have musical direction by John Banister.

Additional stops on the tour will include the Croydon Ashcroft Theatre, the Swindon Wyvern Theatre, the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, the Richmond Theatre, the Bristol Hippodrome, the Cardiff New Theatre, the Manchester Palace Theatre, the New Brighton Floral Pavilion, the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, the Sunderland Empire Theatre, Dundee Caird Hall, the Lincoln Theatre Royal, the Hayes Beck Theatre, the Bromley Churchill Theatre, Leicester De Montfort Hall, the Belfast Grand Opera House, Norwich Theatre Royal, and Southend Cliffs Pavilion. Other tour cities will be announced at a later date.

The show is a tribute to rock ‘n’ roll singer Buddy Holly, who died in a plane crash in 1959. The musical features over 20 of his greatest hits including “Peggy Sue,” “That’ll Be The Day,” “Oh Boy,” “Not Fade Away,” “Everyday,” “Rave On,” “Maybe Baby,” “Raining In My Heart,” Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba,” and the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace.”

The company will feature Glen Joseph, Roger Rowley, Chris Redmon, Dan Graham, Felicity Chilvet, Steve Dorsett, Miguel Angel, Gary Trainor, Kyle Riley, Katia Sartini, Melissa Keyes, and Alex Marshall.

The creative team will include Adrian Rees (production design), Peter Cox (sound design) and Joe Atkins (lighting design).
