Ben Forster Named ITV Superstar Winner

Ben Forster was named the winner of the ITV casting competition series Superstar on July 25, and will play the title role in the upcoming arena tour of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
The actor’s previous theater credits include the West End productions of Le Cava, Grease and Thriller Live.
As previously reported, the Jesus Christ Superstar tour will also feature Tim Minchin as Judas, Melanie C of Spice Girls fame as Mary Magdalene, and BBC Radio DJ Chris Moyles as Herod.
The tour will open at London’s O2 Arena on September 21, with stops scheduled for Glasgow, Newcastle,? Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool and Nottingham. The production is being directed by Laurence Connor, and designed by Mark Fisher with lighting by Patrick Woodroffe.
