Theater legend Colm Wilkinson attended Phantom-The Las Vegas Spectacular at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino on Tuesday, April 5. Following the show, he went backstage to meet and take a photo with star Anthony Crivello, who plays the show’s title role. The two swapped stories and Wilkinson even tried on Crivello’s Phantom mask.

Phantom opened in Las Vegas on June 24, 2006. Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Webber. It has production design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge, and sound by Martin Levan. Orchestrations are by David Cullen and Webber.

Wilkinson received a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Jean Valjean in the original Broadway production of Les Miserables. Among his many other musical credits is playing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera in a Toronto engagement.
