Michael Park, Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa, Heather Tom, et al. Win Daytime Emmy Awards

The 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were presented at the Las Vegas Hilton on Sunday, June 19, Wayne Brady hosted the event, which was broadcast live on CBS.


Broadway veteran Michael Park, who is currently starring as Mr. Bratt in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, received his second consecutive Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for his role as Jack Snyder on CBS’ now-defunct As The World Turns.

Stage veteran Heather Tom won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role as Katie Logan Spencer on The Bold & The Beautiful. She previously won two Emmys for her role as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless.

Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa were named Outstanding Talk Show host for Live with Regis and Kelly; they shared the award with Dr. Mehmet Oz. His show, The Dr. Oz Show was also named Outstanding Informational Talk Show.

The Bold and the Beautiful was named Outstanding Drama Series;
The Ellen DeGeneres Show was named Oustanding Entertainment Talk Show; and Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune tied for the Emmy for Outstanding Game Show.


Other winners included actors Laura Wright, Jonathan Jackson, Brittany Allen, and Scott Clifton; and Cash Cab host Ben Bailey


Oprah Winfrey was honored with the Crystal Pillar Award for her achievement in television, while game show hosts Alex Trebek and Pat Sajak received Lifetime Achievement Awards. In addition, there was a tribute to stage star and Daytime Emmy Award winner Susan Lucci.
