Broadway veteran Reba McEntire, who now simply goes by “Reba,” has been chosen to receive the Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Country Music (ACM). In addition, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, along with Garth Brooks, have been chosen to receive the ACM’s Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award honoring individuals who are pioneers in the country music genre. These non-competitive awards have been announced in anticipation of the ACM awards ceremony to be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, on CBS. Reba will host the event with Blake Shelton.

As previously announced, Reba is also one of the nominees in Top Female Vocalist category. The other nominees are Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Lee Ann Womack.

Among the other winners of non-competitive ACM honors are Taylor Swift, who has been chosen to receive the Jim Reeves International Award, which is presented to an individual for outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world, and the film Country Strong, which stars Gwyneth Paltrow and has been chosen as the recipient of the Tex Ritter Award, which is given to a movie released and/or receiving major exposure during the preceding calendar year, featuring or utilizing country music.
