Wallace Smith to Join Cast of Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s Pippin

Kansas City Repertory Theatre has announced that Wallace Smith –most recently seen in the Broadway revival of Godspell — has been cast as the Leading Player in Pippin, running September 14-October 7 at Spencer Theatre. Artistic director Eric Rosen will direct.Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson, Pippin tells the story of a prince’s struggle to find meaning and significance in his life.

As previously announced, the cast will also feature Claybourne Elder (Pippin), John Hickok (Charles), Mary Testa (Berthe), and Zach Villa (Lewis/Others) as well as Katie Gilchrist (Catherine, Ensemble), Katie Kalahurka (Fastrada, Ensemble), Jennie Greenberry (Female Ensemble), and Gil Perez-Abraham, Jr. (Male Ensemble).
