Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol starts its run this evening at the Norris Center at Gulfshore Playhouse.

The one-man tour-de-force presents a new spin on Dickens’ iconic Christmas story. In this version, Marley dies and begins a personal journey through London that traverses Christmases past, present, and future, along with Heaven, Hell and beyond. In the spirit of the original, the show is comic and terrifying, contemplating themes of redemption and renewal in the holiday season.

Written by Tom Mula and directed by Kristen Coury, the solo show features Cody Nickell as the title character.

The creative team includes Steven C. Kemp (set design), Jennifer Bronsted (costume design), David M. Upton (lighting design), Christopher Colucci (sound design), and Kate Haggerty (stage manager).

Performances will run through December 20.
