Broadway veteran Will Ferrell will receive the 14th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. It will be presented to him at a ceremony in the Concert Hall at the Kennedy Center, to be held on Sunday, October 23, at 7pm.

The evening, which will also be broadcast, will pay tribute to the humor and accomplishments of the television icon and motion picture star. The lineup of entertainers will be announced at a later date.

Ferrell starred on Broadway in You’re Welcome America: A Final Evening With George W. Bush, which received a Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event. His many films include Land of the Lost, Elf, and Anchorman, and he is well known for his work on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. He stars in writer-director Dan Rush’s new film, Everything Must Go, which opens on May 13 after debuting last month at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The proceeds from the Mark Twain Prize evening are used to support the Kennedy Center’s programs, performances and outreach activities.
