Tim Daly, Euan Morton et al. Set for Will on the Hill

Private Practice star Tim Daly and Tony nominee Euan Morton will participate in the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s 9th year of Will on the Hill, which utilizes actual Washington politicians in a benefit event. Alan Paul will direct the show, which will be presented at Sidney Harman Hall, on Monday, May 2.

This year’s installment features a script by Peter Byrne, and is entitled The World’s a Stage. It will bring the audience to a city-wide Shakespeare festival in Washington, as members of the government, the media and interest groups throng the streets in full costume. Richard III and Puck come to wreak havoc, attempting to undermine the political process at every opportunity. Everyone must rely on their reluctant hero Hamlet to save the day.

This year’s Congressional cast members will include Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) and Representatives Shelley Berkley (D-NV), Bruce Baley (D-IA), Diana DeGette (D-CO), Ted Deutch (D-FL), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Mike McIntyre (D-NC), Chellie Pingree (D-ME), Jared Polis (D-CO) and Linda Sanchez (D-CA). They will be joined by cast members from supporting organizations, members of the media, as well as members of the D.C. political scene including: Gina Adams (FedEx), Marla Allard, Robin Bronk (The Creative Coalition), Howard Fineman (Huffington Post), Dr. Natwar Gandhi (DC CFO), Major Garrett (National Journal) and The Honourable Ian Liddell-Grainger, MP (Member of Parliament for Bridgewater and West Somerset). Additions to the cast list are expected and will be announced in the coming weeks.

Will on the Hill festivities begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. The performance will open with a special student presentation of a scene from All’s Well That Ends Well. The performance of The World’s a Stage will follow. A buffet dinner reception will be held immediately following the performance at 8:30 p.m.
