The Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced casting for David Ives’ world premiere adaptation of Corneille’s comedy The Liar, to play the Lansburgh Theatre, April 6-May 23. Michael Kahn will direct.

In the play, Dorante is charming, handsome … and a pathological liar! When he arrives in Paris, Dorante’s outlandish tales amaze and convince all who hear them, but for each problem his clever lying solves, it creates two new ones.

Christian Conn will star as Dorante, with the cast also including Adam Green as Cliton, Erin Partin as Clarice, Miriam Silverman as Lurcrece, Tony Roach as Alcippe, Aubrey Deeker as Philiste, Colleen Delany as Isabelle/Sabine, and David Sabin as Geronte.

The design team will include Alexander Dodge (set), Murell Horton (costumes), Adam Wernick (composition), Martin Desjardins (sound), and Jeff Croiter (lighting).
