Cate Blanchett, Wayne Brady, Barbara Cook, Kelli O'Hara, Holland Taylor, et al. Set for Kennedy Center Season logo

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington has announced its 2011-12 season.

Theatrical highlights will include a production of the Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart musical Pal Joey, with a new book by Terrence McNally; the Sydney Theater Company's production of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, starring Cate Blanchett; Mabou Mines' Dollhouse; ANN: An Affection Portrait of Richards, starring Holland Taylor; and touring productions of Come Fly Away, Les Miserables, Billy Elliot, La Cage Aux Folles, Memphis, and The Addams Family.

The Barbara Cook Spotlight series will feature performances by Cook, as well as Aaron Lazar, Euan Morton, Alexandra Silber, and Emily Skinner.

NSO Pops concerts will include a salute to the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein with Lazar, Kelli O'Hara, and Rod Gilfry; George Benson in a salute to Nat King Cole; The Canadian Tenors; Wayne Brady in a tribute to Sam Cooke and Sammy Davis, Jr.; and John Legend & The Roots in a salute to Marvin Gaye.

Other highlights of the season will include performances by Joshua Bell and the National Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre, Mark Morris Dance Group, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and Keigwin + Company, among others.

In addition, the Washington National Opera will present productions of Puccini's Tosca, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Mozart's Così fan tutte, Verdi's Nabucco, and Massenet's Werther, as well as concerts with Deborah Voigt and Angela Gheorghiu.
