Paulo Szot Set for Dallas Opera’s Don Giovanni; Opening Night to Be Broadcast Live

Tony Award winner Paulo Szot will play the title role in the Dallas Opera’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, to be performed October 22 – November 7. John Pascoe will direct and design the production, which will be conducted by Nicolae Moldoveanu. The opening-night performance will be broadcast live in the newly rededicated Annette Strauss Square.

Szot won a Tony Award for his performance in South Pacific. He recently made his Metropolitan Opera debut in The Nose and his New York cabaret debut with An Evening with Paulo Szot at the Café Carlyle. His appearance in Don Giovanni marks his Dallas Opera debut.

The company will also feature Georgia Jarman (Donna Elvira), Claire Rutter (Donna Anna), Bruce Ford (Don Ottavio), Mirco Palazzi (Leporello), Ailyn Pérez (Zerlina), and Ben Wager (Masetto).
