David Coffee, Jennifer Foster, John Arthur Greene, et al. Set for Casa Mañana’s Hairspray

Casa Mañana has announced casting for Hairspray, to run August 13-21. Casey Hushion will direct the production, which will have choreography by Josh Rhodes.


Based on the classic film by John Waters, Hairspray features music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad wins a role on a local TV dance program, becomes a celebrity overnight, and launches a campaign to integrate the show.

The company will feature Jennifer Foster (Tracy Turnblad), David Coffee (Edna Turnblad), John Arthur Greene (Link Larkin), Doug LoPachin (Wilbur Turnblad), Laura Wetsel (Penny Pingleton), Donell Foreman (Seaweed J. Stubbs), Sainty Reed (Amber Von Tussle), Cara Serber (Velma Von Tussle), Sheran Keyton (Motormouth Maybelle), Sydney Porter (Little Inez), Christopher J. Deaton (H. Spitzer), Jarret Mallon (Corny Collins), and Sarah Gay (Prudy Pingleton).


The ensemble will include Aubrey Adams, Ashley Arnold, Jo-Rhea Dalcour, Alyssa Gardner, Adrianna Hicks, Tesia Kwarteng, Hannah Miller, Olivia Sharber, Eean Cochran, Desmond Dansby, Jeremy Dumont, Tanner Hanley, Drew Kelly, Dustin Norris, Darius-Anthony Robinson, and Michael Sylvester.
