Yale Rep Announces Casting for Three Sisters

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced casting for Sarah Ruhl’s new version of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, to run September 16 – October 8. Les Waters will direct the production, which will have musical direction by Julie Wolf.

The play is a wistful romance of missed chances and wasted opportunities. The Prozorov sisters, carrying the torch for enlightened society in a provincial backwater town, entertain a visiting army garrison, all the while losing their hearts to the dashing soldiers, their quixotic ideals, and a world of what-might- have-been.

The company will feature Natalia Payne (Masha), Wendy Rich Stetson (Olga), Heather Wood (Irina), Josiah Bania (Rode), James Carpenter (Chebutykin), Richard Farrell (Ferapont), Emily Kitchens (Natasha), Bruce McKenzie (Vershinin), Alex Moggridge (Andrei), Barbara Oliver (Anfisa), Keith Reddin (Kulygin), Thomas Jay Ryan (Tuzenbach), Brian Wiles (Fedotik), and Sam Breslin Wright (Solyony).

The creative team will include set designer by Annie Smart, costume designer Ilona Somogyi, lighting designer Alex Nichols, and sound designer David Budries.
