Wilson Cruz, Colin Hanlon, Pearl Sun Set for Westport Country Playhouse’s tick, tick…BOOM!

Casting has been announced for Westport Country Playhouse’s production of Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick…BOOM!, to run June 23-July 18. Scott Schwartz will direct.

The musical, about a young artist on the verge in New York City, will star Wilson Cruz as Michael, Colin Hanlon as Jon, and Pearl Sun as Susan. The production team will include Charles Czarnciki (musical director), Christopher Gattelli (choreographer), David Farley (scenic design), Ilona Somogyi (costume design), Herrick Goldman (lighting design), and Jon Weston (sound design).

Cruz played Angel in the Broadway production of Rent, and is well known for his work on the television series My So-Called Life. Hanlon’s Broadway/Off-Broadway credits include Rent, Pirates of Penzance, and I Love You Because. Sun most recently appeared Off-Broadway in Happiness.

Schwartz helmed the original off-Broadway production of tick, tick…BOOM!, as well as the national tour, London, and Los Angeles productions. His Broadway credits include Golda’s Balcony and Jane Eyre (co-directed with John Caird).
