The Understudy, Man of La Mancha, and More Set for 2018 at Westport Country Playhouse

Westport Country Playhouse has announced its 2018 season. Mark Lamos is the theater's artistic director.

The season opens with Pearl Cleage's Flyin' West, running May 29-June 16 under the direction of Seret Scott. This is followed by Georges Feydeau's A Flea in Her Ear, in a new adaptation by David Ives. Mark Lamos directs the production, July 10-28.

Theresa Rebeck's The Understudy follows, April 14-September 1, with David Kennedy directing. Man of La Mancha, a musical with book by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh, and lyrics by Joe Darion, will be staged September 25-October 13. Lamos directs.

The season culminates with the world premiere of Matthew Greene's Thousand Pines, running October 30-November 17 under the direction of Austin Pendleton. A return engagement of Mona Golabek's The Pianist of Willesden Lane, directed by Hershey Felder, will take place in December.
